Welcome to the Grants Office
The Amherst College Grants Office helps faculty members find external funding to advance their research and teaching. It also pursues foundation and government grants to support college programs and priorities. In both roles, we work closely with the Office of the Provost and Dean of the Faculty and the Research Administrator in the Controller’s Office.
The Grant Process
We can help you through each stage of the grant process, whether you're ready to find and apply for grants or want support while stewarding your post-award relationship with a funder. To get started, choose a category from the list below.
Find funding
Learn about grants, fellowships, and Five-College requests for proposals (RFPs) with grant databases and our own lists.
Prepare your grant proposal
The Grants Office has resources to assist you with each step of your grant or fellowship application, from confirming eligibility to constructing your draft budget.
Get internal approvals
Applications for grant awards that will be administered by the college require a pre-submission review.
Manage your grant award
Set up your grant account, charge expenses to the grant, and modify your funded project's timeline or budget.
Report on grant-sponsored activities
Reporting on grant deliverables is crucial, both for your relationship to a funder and for others in the Amherst community who may apply for similar grants in the future.
