Insaan-Amherst Fellowship Program

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Insaan-Amherst Fellowship Program, created as a partnership between Insaan and Amherst College’s Loeb Center for Career Exploration and Planning, is designed to provide one Amherst student each summer with an enriching global experience that will deepen or awaken their intellectual and moral consciousness about the plight of the poor and expose them to the various models emerging to tackle, innovate and ultimately find solutions to poverty.

As an Insaan-Amherst Fellow, an Amherst student will be selected to spend 8 weeks during the summer working for one of the social enterprises supported by Insaan in a developing country in East Africa, South Asia, or the Middle East at one of the social enterprises supported by Insaan. The selected fellow will receive a $4,500 stipend from the Loeb Center for Career Exploration and Planning along with assistance from Insaan on settling in the host country, including  housing and local transportation.
